TikTok LIVE activeness levels explained

Activeness levels are the five steps (1 to 5, above an Unranked floor) that CN Creator App uses to show how active a creator was in a month. A creator is placed on the highest level whose valid-days gate and LIVE-hours gate their month clears together. In the app, TikTok fixes each level's gate and the agency owner sets what each level pays.

This page states no gate, no threshold and no rate. TikTok fixes the gates, they can differ by market and TikTok may change them, and we found no TikTok page that publishes them. It describes how the app behaves, checked against the app's own screens and code on the date given under "What TikTok publishes". Your levels screen shows the gates that apply to your agency now.

What the levels measure

A level is a creator's place on a ladder of activity. The app grades it from two figures for the creator's latest month: valid days and LIVE hours. Diamonds are not part of it.

Both gates must be cleared. A creator who is strong on one figure and short on the other stays on the lower level, because the app puts a creator on the highest active level whose two gates the month clears together.

A creator who clears no level is Unranked. Unranked sits below level 1, at rank 0, and carries no share.

Nobody types a level in. The app works it out from the figures each time, so when a new month is read the level moves with it. If a creator's month has not been read yet, the app has no figures to grade and shows the progress as not read, not as zero.

One detail of how the app counts: LIVE time is counted in whole hours and rounds down, so 59 minutes 59 seconds is not the next hour.

Five is the app's default ladder. TikTok's table can differ by market and the app can follow a market's table, so count the levels on your own levels screen.

Who decides what

Several different parties have a hand in a level. This table keeps them apart.

The gates: what the app shows, and what this page does not

Each level row on the levels screen shows its gate as a number of valid days and a number of LIVE hours. This page does not print those numbers. TikTok fixes them, we found no public TikTok page that lists them, TikTok's table can differ by market, and TikTok may change it.

The app's levels are meant to match TikTok's activeness table for the agency's market. If a gate on your screen does not match what your LIVE Backstage shows for the same creator, treat Backstage as the reference and tell support.

The app says plainly that the gates are not the owner's to change: "Valid days, LIVE hours and diamond thresholds are TikTok's ladder and can't be edited."

Tier status: Maintained and Ranked up

Activeness levels are one of two ladders. The other is the diamond tier, a ten-step ladder that TikTok also fixes and that follows a creator's diamonds, not their days or hours. Tier status is the app's name for whether a creator Maintained or Ranked up on that diamond ladder this month. Because a creator holds a place on both at once, it helps to name the ladder in full, "Activeness level" or "Diamond tier", and the app's celebration cards do.

  • Maintained. This month's diamonds reach the threshold of the diamond tier the creator held last month.
  • Ranked up. This month's diamonds reach the threshold of the next tier up.
  • Never both. Ranked up replaces Maintained. A creator on a fixed % deal gets neither.
  • Not read yet. If the app has not read a creator's last-month tier or this month's diamonds, there is no status and no extra is added. That is not counted as a failure.
  • The owner's part. The owner sets what Maintained and Ranked up each add to a creator's share, under "On top of the share" on the levels screen. A pay rule can also be limited to creators whose tier status is "Maintained or ranked up" or "Ranked up only".

The diamond tier thresholds are TikTok's. They are shown on a read-only Diamond Tiers reference screen and are not printed here.

How an owner turns levels into pay

  1. Say how the agency pays. The app asks "Which way do you pay?" with two choices, "Paying by level" and "Paying by diamonds". It may suggest an answer from your existing rules and never saves a guess. Level shares only decide pay if the agency pays by level.
  2. Open the levels screen. On the Bonus screen, the "The two ladders" card lists the levels and the diamond tiers and has an "Edit shares" link. It opens the levels screen, "Activeness Levels", where each level shows its gate and a share % box.
  3. Set each level's share. Enter the share % for each of the five levels. Decimals are accepted. Nothing is written until you press Save curve.
  4. Look for a level with no share. The screen flags a level that pays nothing with "No share set for this level", so that a level paying nothing is a decision and not an accident.
  5. Set the extras for Maintained and Ranked up. They are added on top of the share by tier status, under "On top of the share".
  6. Try it before you publish. The Bonus screen prices your rules on three creators from your own roster as you change them.

The shares you set here feed only the "Activeness level" and "Tier status" pay rules. Flat rules ignore them, and a creator on a separate deal is paid by that deal, not by the agency's level shares. If your agency pays by diamonds, the levels screen says so: "These shares are paid per activeness level, and your agency does not pay by level. Editing them changes nothing anybody is paid." A reader without agency-wide Bonus access sees the levels read-only.

The app never moves money. The payout ledger is read-only and the agency pays outside the app.

What a creator sees

A creator opens their own Levels screen. It explains that the level comes from valid days and LIVE hours and the diamond tier from diamonds, shows their own level and what it takes to hold it or climb, and shows nothing about any other creator.

Questions agency owners ask

What are activeness levels on TikTok LIVE?

Activeness levels are the five steps (1 to 5, above an Unranked floor) that CN Creator App uses to show how active a creator was in a month. A creator is placed on the highest level whose valid-days gate and LIVE-hours gate their month clears together. In the app TikTok fixes each level's gate.

How is a creator's activeness level decided?

From two figures for the creator's latest month, valid days and LIVE hours, and from nothing else. The app puts the creator on the highest active level whose two gates both clear. A creator who clears neither is Unranked. Nobody types the level in, and it moves when a new month is read.

What are the requirements for each activeness level?

Each level has a gate of valid days and LIVE hours. TikTok fixes the gates, they can differ by market and TikTok may change them, so this page prints none. We found no public TikTok page that lists them. Your levels screen shows the current gates, and your LIVE Backstage is the reference.

Who decides what each level pays?

In CN Creator App, the agency owner, or staff the owner has given agency-wide Bonus access. The owner sets a share % for each level on the levels screen and presses Save curve. TikTok fixes the gates, not what the agency pays its creators.

Do level shares matter if my agency pays by diamonds?

No. Level shares only decide pay when the agency pays by level. If the agency pays by diamonds, the levels screen says that editing the shares changes nothing anybody is paid. The app asks which way you pay, "Paying by level" or "Paying by diamonds", and never saves a guess.

Are activeness levels the same as diamond tiers?

No. Activeness levels follow valid days and LIVE hours and there are five. The diamond tier follows diamonds and has ten steps. A creator holds a place on both at once, which is why the app's celebration cards name the ladder in full.

What do Maintained and Ranked up mean?

They describe a creator's month on the diamond tier ladder. Maintained: this month's diamonds reach the threshold of the tier the creator held last month. Ranked up: they reach the next tier's threshold. Ranked up replaces Maintained, never both, and the owner sets what each adds to the share.

Does an Unranked creator get nothing?

Unranked carries no level share, so under level-based pay it adds nothing from the level. Other pay rules, or a separate deal for that creator, can still apply. The app flags a level that pays nothing so that the owner decides it on purpose.

What TikTok publishes

We searched TikTok's own pages on 2026-11-05 (the LIVE Creator Networks pages in English, Arabic and Turkish and their white paper, the LIVE Backstage Help Center, and TikTok's support pages) and found no page that describes the activeness levels or lists their gates. TikTok may describe them inside LIVE Backstage, which needs an agency login. We could not read the Help Center's articles without one.

Everything else on this page describes how CN Creator App behaves, checked against the app's own screens and code on the same date.
