Checklist for agency owners

What to check in TikTok LIVE Backstage every month

Every month, check that your Backstage login still works, that the roster and agent assignments are right, each creator’s diamonds, valid days and LIVE hours, their level, how recent each figure is, and the total you owe before you pay anyone. The checklist below gives each check, why it matters and how it looks in CN Creator App, and it is written for agency owners and their staff.

Use this as a working list. Run it once during the month and again after the month has closed: the app marks a closed month as settling around the 10th of the next one. The boxes on the right are for ticking as you go; they are not saved, so print the page or copy the list if you want a record.

The monthly checklist

Eleven checks, in the order most owners meet them: the connection first, then the people, then the figures, then the money.

Monthly checklist: each check, why it matters, how it appears in the app, and a box to tick.
Check Why it matters In CN Creator App Done
The agency’s Backstage login still works Nothing can be read from a login that has stopped working, so every figure after that goes out of date. A refused password, a verification code nobody answered and a connection that was never finished are all things only a person can fix. When nothing has been read from a login for a while, the owner sees a "Reconnect TikTok Backstage" card on Home. The Backstage accounts screen shows the state of each login: Connected, Needs a code, Not found or Refused.
The roster matches who is really signed to you Levels, pay and every report start from the list of creators. A creator missing from it, or one who has left and is still listed, makes every later check wrong. The Roster tab lists the creators read from Backstage, with filters for All, Active, Invited, Not on app, Left and Deactivated. The roster video tutorial walks through it.
Every creator has someone looking after them A creator nobody looks after has nobody to answer their questions or follow their month. On the Roster, "Select and assign" gives creators to a member of staff, and an agent sees their own list as "My book". "Off every agent’s book" takes an assignment away. An agent who connects their own login sees the creators TikTok assigned to them.
Diamonds this month, creator by creator Diamonds are the figure a diamond-based pay rule works from, so a wrong or missing number changes what a creator is owed. Compare each creator with their own last month and ask about any big jump or drop. Source: TikTok (checked 2026-11-05) Each creator’s screen opens with "Diamonds this month". The Roster can sort by diamonds and filter by a minimum.
Valid days Valid days are one of the two things, with LIVE hours, that the level gates are built from, and a pay rule can set a valid-days condition of its own. A creator one day short is worth a conversation before the month ends. Valid days sit beside the diamonds on each creator’s screen. This page does not define a valid day: use TikTok’s own count in Backstage.
LIVE hours Hours are the other half of a level gate. A creator can look strong on diamonds and still be short on hours. Source: TikTok (checked 2026-11-05) LIVE hours appear on each creator’s screen, and the Roster has a minimum LIVE hours filter.
Level and tier status TikTok fixes the gate for each of the five activeness levels, and you set what each level pays. Whether TikTok marked a creator’s tier as Maintained or Ranked up can also change what they earn under your rules. The Roster filters by Level and Diamond tier. The levels screen holds the share for each level and the extras for "Maintained" and "Ranked up". See pay rules, levels and the payout ledger.
How recent each figure is, and whether the month has closed The current month keeps moving until it closes. Judge a creator, or pay one, from a month that has settled and a figure that was read recently. Each creator’s month says "Read" and how long ago, or "Not read yet". In the payout ledger the current month says "Figures are still moving until it closes" and a closed month says "Settles around the 10th".
Any figure shown as a dash A dash means the figure was not read, which is not the same as zero. The creator may have had a full month that simply did not arrive. A figure that was not read shows as a dash, never as a zero. In the payout ledger a dash means not priced yet, not zero.
TikTok’s own monthly bonuses and payouts for the agency TikTok says an agency can review monthly bonuses and payouts in LIVE Backstage. That is TikTok’s figure for the agency. What you owe each creator is a separate number set by your own rules, and the two are worth comparing. Source: TikTok (checked 2026-11-05) This part you review in Backstage itself. CN Creator App works out what each creator is owed under the rules you set, which is your agency’s figure, not TikTok’s.
The payout ledger against what you expected Before anyone is paid, compare the month’s total and each line with what you expected. The agency pays outside the app, so the ledger is where you check the amounts before you pay by your usual route. The Payout ledger, under "Publish and set up" on the Operations tab, lists who is owed what for the month, highest first. It is read-only: payouts are made outside the app and there is nothing to record there. It needs payout access.

This page does not say where each figure sits in Backstage. TikTok’s public pages do not name its menus: the overview of LIVE Backstage describes areas such as creator operations and performance insights, with creator-level and team-level metrics, but no screen names. Open your own account and find each figure there rather than trust a path we could not confirm. TikTok’s own guidance is in the LIVE Backstage Help Center.

Where a row says Source: TikTok, the fact comes from TikTok’s Creator Networks page. Everything else describes how the app behaves. The page states no threshold for diamonds, valid days or LIVE hours: TikTok fixes the level gates, and the TikTok pages checked do not publish one we could quote.

Doing this by hand?

Backstage is where the figures come from, and checking it yourself every month is a fair way to work. What costs time is the retyping: copying each creator’s numbers into a sheet, remembering which cells were empty, and doing it again once the month settles.

If the agency connects its Backstage login once, CN Creator App (formerly Devign Agency Suite) reads much of this list for you. Backstage data without exports has the detail and the Connect Backstage guide has the steps. Here is what that means in practice.

What a connected app can read for you

  • The roster: every creator, their month and who looks after them.
  • For each creator and month: diamonds, valid days and LIVE duration, plus the number of LIVEs, new followers and PK matches.
  • A dash where a figure was not read, never a zero.
  • How long ago each month was read, and a prompt to reconnect when a login has delivered nothing for a while.
  • What each creator is owed under the rules you set, in a read-only payout ledger.
  • It reads only what the agency’s own Backstage account already shows. Backstage explained for agencies is the companion guide to Backstage itself.

What stays in Backstage and with you

  • TikTok’s side of the relationship. TikTok’s Creator Networks page lists contracts, viewer engagement, scouting creators and the monthly bonuses and payouts as things done in LIVE Backstage.
  • Figures your Backstage account does not have. The app is not a way to get them.
  • Any change on TikTok. The app only reads: it never posts, messages or changes anything there, and it does not detect TikTok violations.
  • Whether your agreement with TikTok allows a connected service. That is the agency’s decision (see the Terms of Service, section 8.3).
  • Paying people. The agency pays outside the app, by the route it already uses. The app never takes, sends, holds or processes money.
  • The call on a doubtful figure. If a number looks wrong, Backstage is what to check it against.

Questions agency owners ask

What should an agency check in TikTok LIVE Backstage every month?

Check that the Backstage login still works, that the roster and agent assignments are right, each creator’s diamonds, valid days and LIVE hours, their level and tier status, how recent each figure is, any figure that is missing, TikTok’s own monthly bonuses and payouts for the agency, and the total you owe before you pay. The checklist above gives each one with the reason.

How often should an agency owner review Backstage?

At least once a month, and it helps to do it twice: once during the month, while a creator can still close a gap, and once after the month has closed. CN Creator App marks the current month as still moving until it closes and a closed month as settling around the 10th, so the second pass is best after that. TikTok’s public pages do not set a review schedule.

Which figures matter most when reviewing a creator’s month?

Diamonds, valid days and LIVE hours, because the level gates are built from valid days and LIVE hours and diamond-based pay rules work from diamonds. After those, the creator’s level and tier status. Compare each creator with their own previous month rather than with the others.

When is a month’s data final in TikTok LIVE Backstage?

CN Creator App treats a closed month as settling around the 10th of the month after, so that is the earliest sensible time to price it and read the payout ledger. Until then the figures move. The TikTok pages we checked give no settlement date, so if your own agreement says otherwise, follow it.

What does a dash next to a creator’s figure mean?

It means the figure was not read, which is different from zero. In CN Creator App a figure that was not read shows as a dash, never as a zero, and in the payout ledger a dash means the creator is not priced yet. Do not judge or pay a creator on a dash: wait for the next read, or check the figure in Backstage.

What should I do if my Backstage login stops working?

Reconnect it. When nothing has been read from a login for a while, CN Creator App shows the owner a "Reconnect TikTok Backstage" card on Home, and the Backstage accounts screen shows the state of the login: Connected, Needs a code, Not found or Refused. Until it is reconnected the figures go out of date. The fixes for each case are in the Connect Backstage guide.

Can an app do this monthly check for me?

Part of it. A connected app can read the roster and each creator’s monthly figures from the agency’s own Backstage account and show how recent they are, but it does not replace TikTok’s own screens: it is not an official TikTok API, it only reads, and whether the agreement allows a connected service is the agency’s decision. Backstage data without exports explains it.

How do I check which agent looks after which creator?

In CN Creator App, creators are assigned from the Roster tab with "Select and assign", and an agent sees their own list as "My book". "Off every agent’s book" removes an assignment. An agent who connects their own Backstage login sees the creators TikTok assigned to them. How to onboard TikTok LIVE creators covers deciding who looks after a creator when they join.

Does the app detect TikTok violations or change anything in Backstage?

No. It only reads, and it does not detect TikTok violations or deduct penalties. A creator who wants to raise a problem can open an appeal with the agency, and how to handle TikTok LIVE creator appeals covers the agency’s side of that.

Does the payout ledger mean the app pays my creators?

No. The ledger is read-only: it lists who is owed what for the month, highest first, and the agency pays outside the app. The app never takes, sends, holds or processes money, so there is nothing to record there. Pay rules, levels and the payout ledger shows the screens, and how to design a bonus structure covers the decisions behind the rules.

Can I use this checklist if I run the agency in several markets?

Yes, run it once for each market. In CN Creator App each market is its own workspace with its own roster and its own Backstage login, switched from one account. Running a TikTok LIVE agency in several markets covers how to organise that.

Who can see these figures in the app?

The owner sees the whole agency and decides what each member of staff can see and do, including whether they can see pay. A creator sees only their own month. The glossary of TikTok LIVE terms explains the words used on this page.
